Amber Bain, the elusive 19-year-old behind The Japanese House, turned heads earlier this year with her debut EP, Pools To Bathe In. The release was laced with intimate and spellbinding electronic-leaning pop, such as the excellent title track and “Teeth”.
Now, Bain is looking to extend her success with Clean, a new EP due out on November 6th through Dirty Hit Records. The four-track collection was recorded over the summer with “Teeth” collaborators George Daniel and Matthew Healy (both of The 1975 fame).
Our first glimpse of this new set of songs comes with the title track, a lovely expanse of vocoder-treated vocals, vulnerability, and serene, aqueous production that sounds as though Bain is emerging from a body of water, newly purified. Listen in below.
