Fresh off their hard-hitting sophomore record, METZ II, Toronto noise rockers METZ have announced a brand new single. Though the band calls Sub Pop home, they’ve teamed up with San Diego-based label Three One G for a 7-inch containing two new songs: “Eraser” b/w “Pure Auto”. Both the vinyl and digital releases are set for January 22nd, 2016, but the band has shared the A-side track as an early listen.

“Eraser” opens with a murky squeal, vocalist Alex Edkins screaming through the mire and reverb. It doesn’t take long for it to burst into a frantic pace as Hayden Menzies’ drumming suddenly bursts into a panic, like the mindset of someone waking up and realizing the room is on fire. METZ once more demonstrate their ability to create a menacing soundscape that stirs up a sense of danger while also employing riffs and tempo shifts from which it’s impossible to turn away.

Listen in below.

“Eraser” b/w “Pure Auto” is available for pre-order on limited-edition green 7-inch vinyl via both Three One G and Sub Pop. The pressing is limited to just 1,000 copies, so get yours while you can. Digital downloads will be available through megamart.subpop.com, iTunes, and Amazon. Find the album artwork below.
