Red band trailer released for Sacha Baron Cohen’s spy action comedy The Brothers Grimsby — watch

on October 30, 2015, 12:18pm

2015 has resuscitated the spy genre with a string of successful films like Kingsman: The Secret Service, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and, well, SpyThere’s still a Bond film to come, so it makes sense that Sony moved its own secret agent film, The Brothers Grimbsy, back to 2016. Well, now that we’re in the thick of fall and next year is already knocking, they’ve decided it’s time to drop the first trailer for the Sacha Baron Cohen action comedy.

Directed by Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Now You See Me), the film doesn’t look to be shying away from the “action” side of its genre. The trailer opens with an intense first-person perspective from the robotically enhanced eye of Mark Strong’s super spy character. The only hint at the funny side of things is the brief introduction to his brother, played by Cohen. We meet the English football hooligan while he’s making sweet, passionate love to his girl (Rebel Wilson) in an entirely inappropriate place. Can’t beat his logic, though.

The film hits theaters on March 4th, and you can check out the trailer below.
