Killer Mike goes to lunch with Bernie Sanders, introduces him at presidential rally

on November 23, 2015, 10:10pm

Last week, Killer Mike gave a lecture on racism and civil rights down at Florida State University. Tonight, the outspoken Run the Jewels MC got behind the podium once again, this time for a much bigger event: a rally for presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.

Killer Mike delivered the opening speech at the political function, which took place at the rapper’s hometown of Atlanta. His words were thoughtful and impassioned — as they usually are — as he referenced the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., warned that the US oughtn’t return to the Reagan years, and even quoted his own 2012 song “Untitled”.

“In my heart of hearts, I truly believe that Senator Bernie Sanders is the right man to lead this country,” Killer Mike told the crowd. “He’s trying to talk truth throughout this country and, in fact, throughout the world — trying to bring people together.”

Watch footage of his speech below.

Prior to the rally, Killer Mike and Sanders hung out and dined at local soul food joint Busy Bee. Check out some photos below.
