Let it never be said Nicolas Cage is a man without a sense of humor. The actor finds himself the butt of many a joke, mostly due to the wildly fluctuating quality of his films and the often absurd extremes of his own performances. His facial reactions 1988’s Vampire’s Kiss, in particular, have lived on in infamy longer than most people’s memory of the movie itself. If you’ve ever responded to a friend’s asinine remark on social media with a grand “You don’t say?!” meme, you likely know what we’re talking about.
Well, Cage has certainly heard of the joke, but the good thing is he’s laughing too. He’s currently filming Dog Eat Dog alongside William DaFoe, and as A.V. Club points out, director Paul Schrader just shared one ridiculous outtake. While filming a scene where his robber character is dressed as a cop, Cage went off book and memed himself. Amazingly, the face he makes absolutely stands a chance of replacing this one.
