Jodorowsky’s Dune is the 2013 documentary by Frank Pavich which explores the wild ambition of cult film director Alejandro Jodorowsky’s never-realized adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune. To help highlight just how far Jodorowsky’s ideas went, Pavich brought on composer Kurt Stenzel to, in his own words, “make a soundtrack to ambition, as that is what Alejandro’s story is really all about.”
On November 13th, that soundtrack will see a vinyl release for the very first time via Light in the Attic Records. The 33 tracks are as transportive as Jodorowsky’s own work, with Stenzel’s mass of analog synths creating rich atmospheres that take the listener deep into the impassioned mind of a creator let loose.
In celebration of the impending release of this cinematic achievement, we’re giving away a prize pack containing one copy of the DVD for the Jodorowsky’s Dune documentary and one vinyl copy of Stenzel’s score. That way, you can watch the journey Pavich details and reflect on it while losing yourself in Stenzel’s music.
