Houston’s upcoming Day for Night Music Festival is already set to be one of 2015’s most interesting events. In it’s inaugural year the production team at Day for Night was able to land an ambitious assortment of acts including New Order’s only confirmed U.S. tour date— and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The two day experience taking place this December 19th and 20th purports to be a confluence of “light and sound.” They’ve brought in well over a dozen renown visual artists to create a multi-sensory experience that will surely challenge the way we think about the traditional music festival. Not to be underscored is the deeply eclectic musical lineup which includes the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Death Grips, Nicholas Jaar, Flying Lotus, Shamir, Janelle Monae, the Philip Glass Ensemble, Battles, Dan Deacon, Mystikal, Com Truise, and many others that would stretch this list far beyond one paragraph.
While the artists at Day for Night span genres and mediums, there is a forward thinking aesthetic that functions as a common thread they all share.
