Ratatat have shared a new video for “Pricks of Brightness”, taken from the 37th best album of 2015, Magnifique. Directed by Luis Cerveró in various spots in Paris, the clip for the most part plays out like a nonsensical stream of random scenes. The thing that ties them all together? As something of a nod to the song, literally prickly, pointy objects.
In a statement, Cerveró explained the video’s concept (or perhaps lack thereof), noting that it “is the result of many conversations with the band about the meaning of making instrumental music, and also about the idea of meaning in itself, what meaning exactly means or how meaningless meaning can be.”
