Dave Grohl, Slash, Metallica, more share their fondest memories of Lemmy at Motörhead frontman’s funeral

Funeral services will be held in Los Angeles this afternoon for Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, and with fans around the world will be able to watch it online.

The band said in a statement, “We want you all to be a part of this memorial service. So wherever you are, please get together and watch with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. Go to your favorite bar, or your favorite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm’s life at home.”

“Whatever your venue, and however you can, let’s be sure to gather globally on Saturday 9th and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon.”

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT, fans can watch the funeral via the YouTube stream below.

Update – Saturday, January 10th at 8:00 p.m. CT: Several prominent musicians including Dave Grohl, Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Matt Sorum, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo, Judas Priest singer Rob Halford, and Anthrax frontman Scott Ian spoke during the ceremony.
