If there’s one thing no one could accuse Warner Bros. of using in their Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ad campaign to this point, it’s subtlety. The first few trailers gave away pretty much everything, from the general storyline to the big reveal of Doomsday. With their final full-length preview, though, it seems WB and DC Comics have taken a cue from the response to the Suicide Squad trailer and focused on building anticipation with strong teases and exciting pacing.
While there’s nothing new plot-wise in the latest trailer, there’s a whole lot more of Ben Affleck’s Batman. The clip opens with Alfred (Jeremy Irons) helping guide the Batplane up to a warehouse filled with armed hostiles. Of course, the Bat gets the drop on the baddies, delivering a brutal beat down that showcases his brawler fighting style. We also get a few brief glimpses at Superman (Henry Cavill) and Lois Lane’s (Amy Adams) romance (which apparently sees Adams submerged in water a lot of the time), and an introduction to Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in the way it always should’ve been handled. Check it out below.
BvS: DoJ hits theaters on March 25th. In addition to Affleck, Cavill, Gadot, Irons, and Adams, the film stars Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), and Michael Shannon, who will reprise his role as the late General Zod and, if rumors hold true, Doomsday.
