Beach House have added a new batch of performances to their already lengthy world tour in support of recently released LPs Thank Your Lucky Stars and Depression Cherry. These new dates — set for cities like Chicago, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Austin — aren’t your run-of-the-mill live shows, however.

The performances, which are dubbed “installation shows”, will take place inside art spaces, galleries, community centers, and other alternative venues whose capacity will be limited to just 200 people. Accompanied by a self-made art installation, Beach House alone — as in just Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally — will perform a continuous set, pulling from past albums Thank Your Lucky Stars, Devotion, and their 2006 self-titled debut.

In a press release, the band explained the concept behind the “installation shows”:

“It has always been difficult to carry the initial moments of creativity that inspire our music through the process of making and releasing a record. There are many chances along the way for the feeling to get lost. A lot of “bedroom” bands experience this when they get to the studio or the stage. This installation performance is an attempt to elicit this pure, embryonic state of mind for ourselves and our audience.”

Tickets for these smaller gigs will be priced higher than those on the band’s regular tour due to production costs. All corresponding venues will be announced 24-48 hours prior to the show date. For more information, head here.
