Florence and the Machine cover Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs” inside a church — watch

Last Friday, Florence and the Machine performed at London’s St. John at Hackney church as part of a benefit show for War Child, a UK-based charity that “empowers children and young people in conflict areas.” Along with fan favorites “Dog Days Are Over”, “What Kind of Man”, and “Shake It Out”, the band unfurled an impassioned cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs”.

Though sparsely arranged, their rendition captured the heart and soul of the Rumours ballad, the vocals of Florence Welch an incandescent force and conveyor of devastating heartbreak. The London natives weren’t on hand for Fleetwood Mac Fest in Los Angeles earlier this month, but hot damn, it’s clear they should’ve been.
