Guillermo Sexo share new song “Vision Owl” — listen

on February 25, 2016, 9:35am

Aside from owning a very good band name, Guillermo Sexo have distinguished themselves as a staple of the Boston indie rock scene for more than a decade. The group already has five records of dense, psychedelic pop under its belt, and they’re set to release a sixth this spring. Eclipse will be available April 15th via Midriff Records, and if new single “Vision Owl” is any indication, it’s gonna be a doozy.

The track picks up right where we last left Guillermo Sexo, bursting out of the gates with a pair of charging guitars and then settling into something a bit more cosmic, a bit more shimmering. There are traces of shoegaze in here, but also some wide-awake pop hooks that dart out from the mix when you least expect them. It’s pretty fresh stuff for a band that’s been around since 2004—or for any band, really.

Listen in to “Vision Owl” below.
