Rock ‘n’ roll supergroup Hollywood Vampires brought a bit of an edge to this year’s Grammys, performing Motörhead’s seminal hit “Ace of Spades” in honor of the late, great Lemmy KilmisterAlice CooperJohnny Depp, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry couldn’t quite capture the raw fury of the original, but having all that star power on stage seemed a fitting way to pay tribute to a man who influenced countless musicians and metal heads.

Hollywood Vampires have made a good business out of covering rock legends already (the band’s debut album consists mostly of covers, including a rollicking rendition of The Who’s “My Generation”). Their fiery Grammys performance also featured the premiere of brand-new song “As Bad As I Am”, which Lemmy would undoubtedly have been proud of.

The band was introduced by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who was a close friend of Lemmy and even got an “Ace of Spades” tattoo shortly after his passing.
