John Carpenter will follow up last year’s Lost Themes with a second volume of new music. Aptly titled, Lost Themes II, the sophomore collection once again reunites the Horror Master with his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies, only this time they “brought in sketches and worked together in the same city.”

Spanning 11 tracks, the latest album promises a “wider [musical world] than that of its predecessor”, featuring “more electric and acoustic guitar” paired with, naturally, “Carpenter’s trademark minimal synth.” The end result will urge fans to “continue to score the movies in their minds.” To quote Sheriff Brackett, “More fancy talk.”

But we like fancy talk, and we’re sold: Lost Themes II hits stores April 15th via Sacred Bones. In support, Carpenter will hit the road this year for a number of gigs, including appearances at Primavera Sound and ATP Iceland.

In case you missed it, we spoke with the maestro last year, ranked his films, and dreamed up some movies.
