Kanye West isn’t even finished with his seventh solo album, The Life of Pablo, but already he’s working on its follow-up. Amid his weekly Wednesday afternoon tweet storm, Kanye revealed that a new album is “coming this summer.”
Update – Saturday, February 27th at 8:35 a.m. CT: “As of now,” Kanye says his new album is called Turbo Grafx 16, named after “one of my favorite gaming systems when I was a kid…”
Of course that doesn’t necessarily mean the album will arrive this summer. Kanye previously said the album eventually known as T.L.O.P. would arrive in summer 2014, but its release date ended up being February 2016. Still, given the amount of material left off of T.L.O.P., another album before year’s end doesn’t seem entirely far fetched.
Elsewhere in his Twitter stream of conscious, Kanye campaigned to fix the Grammy Awards and asked National Academy of Recording Arts President Neil Portnow to give him a phone call.
Last night Kanye premiered a new song called “Closest Thing to Einstein”. ICYMI, check it out below.
