Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace announces memoir, Tranny

on March 21, 2016, 1:15pm

Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace came out as transgender in 2012, and has since emerged as a powerful voice in the trans community. While her band’s 2014 album Transgender Dysphoria Blues plays like an aural memoir, Grace has announced that she’ll be releasing a physical one this November.

Entitled Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout, the memoir was written with Noisey editor Dan Ozzi. As Ozzi told EW, “The book mixes narrative about Laura’s life — growing up with dysphoria and playing in our generation’s most influential punk band — with amazing journal entries she’s been keeping since she was a kid.”

Tranny is due out from Hachette Book Group on November 15th. Below, find Grace’s Instagram post announcing the release, which includes a look at the cover art from Steak Mtn. (aka Chris Norris, the same artist who designed the Transgender Dysphoria Blues album cover).
