Whoever says Hollywood is out of ideas should look no further than what Dan Harmon has in the works. Deadline reports that the mastermind behind NBC’s Community is executive producing a stop-motion animation based on Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee Bubbles.
Isaac Adamson penned the script telling “the story of Michael Jackson’s life and history from the perspective of the pet chimp,” Deadline notes. Bubbles “got a close-up view after being adopted by Jackson from an Austin, Texas research facility and given residence at the Neverland Ranch in 1983. He became Jackson’s constant companion until he became overaggressive and was moved to a monkey sanctuary in Florida.”
Harmon previously executive produced Anomalisa, which was nominated for Best Animated Film at the 2016 Oscars.
