on March 23, 2016, 11:20am

While the 2016 lineup launch for Lollapalooza will garner most of today’s headliners, don’t sell Summerfest short. Taking place just 90 miles north of the Windy City in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the self-described world’s largest music festival has put together a rather impressive lineup of its own.

Sting with Peter Gabriel, Alabama Shakes, Weezer, Chris Stapleton, and Kacey Musgraves are among the Marcus Amphitheater headlining acts. While the likes of Passion Pit, Ryan Adams, Death Cab For Cutie, Garbage, The Decemberists, The Roots, Beastie Boys’ Mike D, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Ben Folds, and OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) will perform sets on the 10 other stages situated throughout Henry Maier Festival Park.

Update – Wednesday, April 6th at 4:10 p.m. CT: Paul McCartney has been announced as a headlining act.

Other notable acts include Willie Nelson, the Johnny Depp-led Hollywood Vampires, Ray Lamontagne, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers, Billy Idol, Neil Finn, Violent Femmes, Cheap Trick, Kirk Franklin, Young the Giant, Peter Bjorn and John, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Morris Day and the Time, Barenaked Ladies, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Umphrey’s McGee, Kris Kristofferson, Kool and the Gang, O.A.R., Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem, The Wombats, Hippo Campus, Coast Modern, Son Little, Diane Coffee, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, and more.

Summerfest 2016 takes place June 29th – July 3rd and July 5th – 10th. Tickets for Marcus Amphitheater shows are sold separately on Ticketmaster, with general admission passes for all other sets available through the festival’s website.
