on April 24, 2016, 6:00pm

On Saturday, April 16th, five days prior to his tragic passing, Prince celebrated Record Store Day. As MPR News notes, the Purple One visited Minneapolis record store Electric Fetus and purchased six albums, his selections varied across genres and generations.

Prince’s Record Store Day haul included classics like Stevie Wonder’s Talking Book, Santana’s Santana IV, and Joni Mitchell’s Hejira, as well as R&B/soul group The Chambers Brothers’ The Time Has Come, Swan Silvertones’ Inspirational Gospel Classics, and ’80s new wave group Missing Persons’ The Best Of Missing Persons.

Incidentally, Prince’s very last tweet was promoting the fact programs from his Piano & A Microphone Tour were available to purchase at Electric Fetus.
