Dinosaur Jr. announce new album Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, plus massive tour

on May 24, 2016, 10:35am

It’s weird to think that Dinosaur Jr. haven’t released an album in four years. Probably because the actual members have kept so busy. J Mascis dropped his solo album, Tied to a Star, in 2014, while Lou Barlow released both Sebadoh’s Defend Yourself in 2013 and his third solo record, Brace the Wave, last year. Murph kept being Murph. Oh, classic Murph.

Well, now they’re back to their proper outfit, and ready to release their 11th studio album, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, due out August 5th via Jagjaguwar. Spanning 11 tracks, nine of which were written by Mascis and two by Barlow, the album is “like every other Dinosaur Jr. record, it is fantastic,” according to Henry Rollins, who gave his stamp of approval. See above.

Want to hear some new music? They’ll perform the first single, “Tiny”, on tonight’s episode of Later…with Jools Holland. Tomorrow, however, they’ll release the track in its proper form.

And because it wouldn’t be a proper album release without getting our ears blown to hell, they’ve announced a massive world tour, all of which you can see below.
