Yesterday, Dinosaur Jr. announced their forthcoming 11th studio album, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not. Just a few hours later, the Massachusetts rockers appeared on Later… with Jools Holland to unveil the record’s lead single, “Tiny”.
The track is a classic piece of Dinosaur Jr. alternative rock, aggressively loud while unavoidably catchy. Even J Mascis couldn’t help from swaying back and forth during the performance when he wasn’t ripping out a guitar solo like some sort of wispy haired rock wizard. Lou Barlow delivered a happy bass line in perfect contrast to the song’s themes of self-doubt, striking at his instrument in a way few bassists would dare. And of course Murph was there to keep a steady and hard-pounded rhythm.

Dinosaur Jr. will drop Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not,, their first record in four years, on August 5th via Jagjaguwar. They’ll support the release with a massive tour, the dates of which can be found here.
