Ennio Morricone cancels concerts over health concerns

on May 04, 2016, 3:03pm

Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone has canceled a trio of upcoming concerts after injuring his back, according to the BBC.

Morricone, who turned 87 years old last November, has two collapsed vertebrae. The injury led to the cancelation of three performances with Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra set for May 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.

A representative for Morricone told the BBC that upcoming dates scheduled in Paris and Oxfordshire are still going forward.

Morricone won an Oscar last year for his score to Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. He’s next set to contribute to Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time.
