Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather notebook to be published as an epic 720-page book

on May 25, 2016, 4:30pm

Academy Award-winning director Francis Ford Coppola will soon publish the notebook he kept while making 1972’s classic gangster drama, The Godfather. Scheduled for release November 15th via Regan Arts, The Godfather Notebook promises to be as epic as the film itself, with a whopping 720 pages containing nearly everything Coppola scribbled during his time on set.

The book’s never-before-published material features the director’s casting notes and annotations on the original Godfather novel by Mario Puzo. Regan Arts is hailing it as “the most important unpublished work on one of the greatest films of all time,” with promises that it will reveal the intense creative process that went into making Coppola’s vision a reality. The Godfather Notebook will also come with an introduction by Coppola himself and exclusive photographs from on and off the set.

If you’re curious about how all those notebook pages translate to a formal book, scans are now available to preview on the Regan Arts website. The Godfather Notebook will be priced at $50, with a signed limited edition available for $250 if that’s an offer you can’t refuse.
