Hinds give messy performance of “Easy” in new music video — watch

CoSigned lo-fi rockers Hinds are known to put on a gleefully sloppy live show, but their new video for single “Easy” is a different kind of mess altogether. The clip for the Leave Me Alone cut may look like a close-up performance video, but soon the Madrid rockers’ faces begin to change. Their makeup streaks down their face in tears, their mouths become covered in spaghetti sauce, and at one point there are just penises drawn on their cheeks.

According to a press release, the John Strong-directed video is meant to explore “the ways in which people torture themselves following a break-up.” That fits the band’s own description of the song, which they call “the worst moment t in the universe during a relationship cause you love him but he doesn’t anymore. And being in bed with him is giving him nightmares. And you are the hangover in his mornings, and the homework during the day and the pain in his ass. So when you reach that point you can’t help but self destruct. There is just nothing you can do, it’s too late to take it easy.”
