Kylesa to take indefinite hiatus

on May 03, 2016, 11:55am

The sounds of sludge metal have just gotten a little quieter. Savannah, Georgia heavy psych rockers Kylesa have announced that they’re taking an indefinite hiatus.

On their Facebook account, the trio — consisting of Phillip Cope, Laura Pleasants, Carl McGinle — announced plans to bring 15 years of performing and recording to a halt. In the message, they thanked their fans for their years of support. No reasons were given for the decision, though they added that, sadly, they have “no set date to reconvene.”

The band was originally announced as part of the Shaky Knees Festival in their home state, but have since been removed from the festival’s website and schedule. What now looks like might be Kylesa’s last album, Exhausting Firewas released back in October. You can stream and purchase the whole record below.
