Lollapalooza has revealed the daily schedule for its 2016 festival.
For the first time ever, the Chicago festival will kick off on a Thursday. The lineup for that day includes Lana Del Rey, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Arcs, Daughter, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Yeasayer, Danny Brown, Wavves, and Autolux. In terms of schedule conflicts, Danny Brown and Wavves both hold down 4:00 p.m. set times, which also overlap with Yeasayer. Additionally, Kurt Vile and Daughter have overlapping sets, and in the evening, fans will have to chose between headliners Lana Del Rey, The Last Shadow Puppets, and J. Cole.
Friday, July 29th boasts performances from Radiohead, Future, ASAP Ferg, M83, Foals, Major Lazer, Wolf Alice, Frightened Rabbit, Ghost, Alessia Cara, Modern Baseball, Con Brio, and Sunflower Bean. M83’s overlapping set with Alessia Cara and Wolf Alice is certainly a humdinger of a conflict; fortunately, there aren’t many other quandaries festival-goers will have to face that day.
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vic Mensa, and Disclosure will close Saturday night. Earlier sets include Grimes, Jane’s Addiction, Big Grams (Big Boi and Phantogram), Leon Bridges, Chairlift, The Joy Formidable, Houndmouth, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. The evening’s headliners are the obvious conflict here, though fans will also have to chose between Big Grams and Nathaniel Rateliff, Leon Bridges, and MUTEMATH, and Jane’s Addiction and Houndmouth.
For the festival’s final day, LCD Soundsystem, Die Antwoord, and Ellie Goulding have the honors of headlining. They’ll be preceded by sets from HAIM, Flume, Bloc Party, Vince Staples, Flatbush Zombies, Third Eye Blind, Silversun Pickups, Local Natives, Years & Years, and D.R.A.M. In what might be the weekend’s most difficult choice, HAIM and Flume play overlapping sets. Another conflict pits Bloc Party opposite Vince Staples.
