In a week where nearly every slice of pop culture has involved Radiohead, it’s nice to cap it off with a sexy new trailer that brings us back to 2000’s Kid A. Perhaps tearing off a page from Cameron Crowe’s Vanilla Sky, Warner Bros. also snagged “Everything In Its Right Place” for their latest teaser behind Ben Affleck’s much-hyped thriller, The Accountant.
The studio’s latest executive producer plays a math savant who has a number of abilities. Think mastermind John Nash meets masterhunk Jason Bourne and you’re in the same ballpark … or so we think. Here’s the official synopsis:
Christian Wolff (Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.
Warrior director Gavin O’Connor helms the picture from a screenplay by Bill Dubuque. In addition to Affleck, Simmons, and Kendrick, the film stars The Punisher’s Jon Bernthal and funny men Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow. Watch the trailer above.
The Accountant hits theaters October 14th via Warner Bros.
