Steven Spielberg quizzed about his own films by The BFG star Ruby Barnhill — watch

on May 14, 2016, 11:03am

The BFG (The Big Friendly Giant) is a forthcoming fantasy adventure film based on Roald Dalh’s book of the same name, due to hit theaters on July 1st. To promote the project at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, its director Steven Spielberg and young lead actress Ruby Barnhill sat down to play a friendly bit of trivia called The BFG (The Big Fact Game — get it?).

Specifically, Barnhill quizzed the veteran director about his own films, including Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., and, of course, The BFG. Among the questions posed to Spielberg: How old is E.T.?; What was your first film directed in the UK?; In what year did Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom take place?; and in what film did the Amblin logo first appear onscreen? For a man who’s overseen over 30 years’ worth of movies, he didn’t too shabbily at all.

Watch the segment above, and check out the trailer for The BFG below.
