Weaves share new video for “One More”, announce US dates — watch

Drake isn’t the only musician reppin’ Toronto these days. After delivering one of the brightest sets at Iceland Airwaves last year, indie rockers Weaves are gearing up to put out their debut album on June 17th. Already we’ve heard two singles off the self-titled Kanine Records release, “One More” and “Candy”. Today, the four-piece continues to promote the LP with the video for “One More”.

Directed by the band’s own Morgan Waters, the clip captures the band on their first tour across the states. Singer Jasmyn Burke steals the show as a robe-clad cheerleader waving shiny pom-poms in the middle of the desert. Waters talked about the visual, telling FADER:

“This was our first American tour and we didn’t know if we were going to kill each other, being stuck in a van together the whole time. We shot the video ourselves in Rock City, New Mexico in the middle of our drive from Toronto to Los Angeles. We’re Canadians so we had to get to know the desert the old fashioned way: with pom poms and a video camera. I filmed Jasmyn from the back of the van as we both yelled at Spencer to drive the right speed while Zach did playback and offered moral support. We smelled burning and assumed it was the smell of America but the mechanic told us the emergency brake was stuck.”

In addition to the clip, Weaves have also expanded their summer tour with a batch of new European and US dates.
