Drake cancels all Summer Sixteen tour meet and greets

on June 22, 2016, 1:08pm

Drake has scrapped all of the meet and greet opportunities on his upcoming Summer Sixteen tour with Future, which kicks off in less than a month. According to Ace Showbiz, the cancellation was due to so-called “scheduling issues.”

Far from ordinary, along with pics with the 6 God and front row tickets, the Summer Sixteen meet and greet packages boasted major swag like candles, fresheners, bags, and incense holders. Unsurprisingly, news of the cancellation has resulted in many paying fans feeling left in a lurch.

While schedule problems are supposedly to blame, it’s possible that something much larger is at work. Concerns regarding security and safety have been suggested as the real reason behind the axed meet and greets. If you’ll recall, former Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was shot point-blank and killed during one such intimate fan event in Florida just a few weeks ago.

It’s unclear whether Future’s own meet and greet opportunities will be affected.
