Roots Picnic expands to New York City with two-day festival

For the last decade, The Roots have staged an annual summer picnic/music festival in their hometown of Philadelphia. This October, the Roots Picnic will expand to New York City for a two-day event featuring performances from D’Angelo, Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne, Nile Rodgers, and The Roots themselves.

Set for October 1st and 2nd in Bryant Park, the festival will also feature Trombone Short & Orleans Avenue, Black Thought’s Live Mixtape featuring Freddie Gibbs and Royce Da 5’9, EPMD, Deerhoof, a DJ set from Questlove, Kevin Gates, Jeremih, and more.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 10th.

The Philadelphia Roots Picnic went down Saturday, June 4th featuring Usher, Future, Blood Orange, Kehlani, Katranada, Leon Bridges, and The Roots.
