Miles Teller is having a much better year than 2015. Last summer’s Fantastic Four wasn’t exactly an ideal followup for his outstanding performance in Damien Chazelle’s Oscar-nominated drama, Whiplash. Now, he’s making amends, returning in August for Todd Phillips’ War Dogs alongside Jonah Hill and offering another left hook this November with Ben Younger’s true story boxing drama, Bleed For This.
We’ve already seen how much fun War Dogs looks like, and now we can see what we’re up against with Bleed For This. Today, the trailer dropped and goddamn is Teller fucking ripped. He’s playing real life Providence boxer Vinny “The Pazmanian Devil” Pazienza, who won two world fights before he severed his spine in a near-fatal car accident. The film follows his painful recovery and his triumphant return to the ring.
An almost unrecognizable Aaron Eckhart plays Teller’s trainer Kevin Rooney, and the two top a creative supporting cast that includes Katey Sagal, Ted Levine, Ciarán Hinds, Jordan Gelber, and Amanda Clayton. Catch the trailer above.
Bleed For This hits theaters November 4th via Open Road.
