HBO targets 2017 premiere for new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm

on July 30, 2016, 3:40pm

Last month, Larry David shared some pretty, pretty, pretty good news: he’ll be returning for a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Speaking at the annual Television Critics Association on Saturday, HBO’s programming chief Casey Bloys said production on the new episodes could begin in the fall, with a premiere targeted for sometime in 2017. Bloys cautioned those plans “could slide,” adding, “but he’s gearing up for it.”

It’s been five years since David’s award-winning cringe comedy aired new episodes. The Seinfeld creator teased the possibility of further episodes, even a full-length movie, but ultimately opted for other projects, including a starring role in the Broadway play Fish in the Dark. Throughout 2015 and 2016, David made multiple appearances on Saturday Night Live portraying Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, all of the show’s original cast members will be back “for what likely will be a 10-episode run on HBO.”

Addressing the return of Curb, David said in a statement, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

In celebration, revisit a few of the show’s greatest moments:
