Sun Kil Moon unveils lovely new song “God Bless Ohio” — listen

on July 20, 2016, 2:28pm

When Mark Kozelek isn’t covering Elliott Smith and David Bowie, he’s steadily churning out new albums under his Sun Kil Moon moniker. The songwriter put out Benji and Universal Themes in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and earlier this year teamed up with Jesu for a collaborative LP.

This winter, he will issue his fourth full-length in four years, Common As Light And Love Are Red Valleys of Blood. As Stereogum points out, the release is a double album and due out February 28th via Caldo Verde. While a tracklist has yet to be revealed, its first single “God Bless Ohio” is streaming today.

Not to be confused with his Ghost of the Great Highway cut “Carry Me Ohio” (or anything Trump disaster related), Kozelek’s latest offering features lovely cascades of delicate fingerpicking. Listen in here.
