Viola Beach’s career may have been cut tragically short before it even got a chance to get started, but they managed to leave behind a lovely body of work with their self-titled debut. With Viola Beach out now via Fuller Beans Records, the band members’ families have teamed with Komixx Entertainment and a pair of artists from the group’s Warrington, UK hometown to create a video for the LP’s hit single, “Boys That Sing”.
The track is a sweet slice of indie pop, and the mixed-media clip made by Mackinnon & Saunders Digital Studios mirrors this beautifully. Against a backdrop filmed in Warrington, an animated boy walks through town always one step behind the mysterious object of his affection. Along the way, he passes by a cartoon version of Viola Beach and also sees the real deal projected on buildings and landmarks. It’s a creative and touching tribute to the late band, and you can watch it above.
