Angel Olsen has already dropped a handful of videos in support of her forthcoming new album, My Woman. For all we’ve seen of her ahead of the September 2nd release, however, we’d yet to witness her promote the album on late night TV. That changed last night when she appeared on the Late Show to ask Stephen Colbert to “Shut Up Kiss Me”. Backed by a band of bolo tie-wearing country suits, Olsen delivered a fierce rendition of the A-side single. Replay the performance above.
Elsewhere in the evening, Colbert sat down with one-half of Swet Shop Boys, Riz MC, aka star of HBO’s The Night Of Riz Ahmed. They discussed what it’s like being a Brit of Pakistani descent, the breakout HBO program (a challenge since Colbert hadn’t finished it yet — though apparent Ahmed hasn’t seen Breaking Bad, either), and Ahmed’s life as a rapper. He even drops a few punchlines about the host’s tie and Ryan Lochte. Watch that interview below.
