Bleached cover Misfits’ “Skulls” — watch

The A.V. Club’s ever-popular A.V. Undercover series rolled out its latest video today, this time featuring a performance from Bleached. The pop-punk trio actually tried to do an Undercover version of The Talking Head’s “Psycho Killer” way back in 2013, but the timing didn’t work out and Xenia Rubins ended up stepping in. This time not only was the timing on point, but so was the song choice.

Breaking with typical protocol for the series, the A.V. Club actually reached out to the band asking if they wanted to cover “Skulls” by the Misfits after seeing frontwoman Jennifer Clavin sporting a Misfits T-shirt. It seemed perfectly fitting given Bleached’s clear fandom and the fact that the Misfits are reuniting this year. Bleached jumped at the chance, saying they “always cover every Misfits song whenever we get the chance.” This is the first time they took on “Skulls”, though, and they did the track from 1982’s Walk Among Us complete justice.

Check out the performance above, and a little interview with Bleached below.
