Drive soundtrack to receive 5th anniversary limited vinyl reissue

on August 17, 2016, 11:35am

Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2011 noir thriller Drive is as lauded for its cast and direction as it is for its Cliff Martinez-penned score. The synth-rich soundtrack is so good it was reissued barely two years after its initial release. Well, super collectors should get ready to plunk down more cash for the same music, as Geoff Barrow’s Invada and Lakeshore have just announced yet another limited edition reissue.

The latest vinyl release comes to mark the 5th anniversary of the film and its soundtrack. Refn and Martinez have both contributed new liner notes to the pressing, along with new artwork (which you can see above). It hasn’t been revealed how many copies will be released, though we do know it’ll only be available between September 30th and December 31st. Pre-orders begin September 1st from Invada.

For now, you can just pull that scorpion jacket out of the closet and clutch it close while you spin your old, useless original pressing of the soundtrack. And wait.
