Greenbeard drop twisted video for “Love Has Passed By Me” — watch

on August 03, 2016, 2:20pm

Austin’s Greenbeard channel the grooving desert rock of Queens of the Stone Age as well as any modern band. And it’s not just Chance Parker’s uncanny Josh Homme-esque vocal delivery that makes it seem that way. Greenbeard hail from the same school of heavy riffs and pop hooks, and their new single “Love Has Passed By Me” has plenty of both. Not to mention a delightfully twisted music video (produced by The Dead Suits) about a Craigslist date gone wrong. Watch it above.

After adding bassist Dan Alvarez — who taps into a powerful, organic dynamic with drummer Buddy Hachar — Greenbeard has become even heavier without eschewing the pop sensibilities and pure riffing that’s made the follow-up to Stoned at the Throne one of our most anticipated albums of the year. The sophomore album is now due mid 2017 release (via Sailor Records) and will be recorded with Matt Bayles. In the meantime, “Love Has Passed By Me” is a satisfying tide-over as the band embarks on string of major festival appearances — most notably as the kickoff band for the Psycho Las Vegas pool party with Mudhoney and a billing on North West Hesh Fest in Portland.

Greenbeard 2016 Festival Dates:
08/24 – Las Vegas, NV @ Psycho Las Vegas
09/02 – Omaha, NE @ Stoned Meadow of Doom
09/24 – Portland, OR @ Northwest Heshfest
