California’s Joyce Manor have already risen to the top of the modern pop punk landscape on the back of three albums and a whole bunch of EPs. Now, the emo outfit have announced their fourth LP, Cody, due out October 7th via Epitaph.

Following up on 2014’s Never Hungover AgainCody was produced with the help of Rob Schnapf, known for his work with Beck, Elliot Smith, and Dr. Dog. Schnapf also produced albums for other pop punk heroes like Saves the Day and FIDLAR.

As a preview of the 10-track effort, Joyce Manor have shared the lead single and album opener, “Fake I.D.”. The track is a refrain-less punch of bitterness that cautions against those first few moments of what you mistake for love. After all, just because a girl asks you, “What do you think about Kanye West?/ I think that he’s great/ I think he’s the best,” it doesn’t mean she’s the one. Take a listen below.

Joyce Manor will perform the new material on their upcoming fall tour with Hotelier and Crying. Find those dates here, and look below for the Cody album art and tracklist.
