It was two years ago that the Ice Bucket Challenge swept the globe. The craze, which saw the participation of celebrities, musicians, athletes, and everyday people, helped to raise awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. A similar new campaign has emerged this summer; it’s called the 22 Push-Up Challenge and is being promoted on behalf of US military veterans and the alarming statistic that every day at least 22 former service members commit suicide.
Thus far, Hollywood has shown its support in droves. The Rock, John Krasinski, Kevin Hart, and celebrity couple Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have all taken part in the dare. Stranger Things actors Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) and Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) have also each put in their 22 push-ups. However, perhaps the most fascinating challenge submission comes from
our my mother’s favorite curly-haired saxophonist, the one and only Kenny G.
Is it the locks? That shining, almost too perfect smile? The way his 60-year-old pecs bounce and constrict like they have a mind of their own? There’s a lot to dissect and enjoy here, I think. The only thing that’s missing is the perfect background music, but I’ve included that clip below so feel free to sync up the smooth jazz with the G-man’s mini workout and prepare to have your mind blown.
