M.I.A. takes flight on new “Bird Song” — listen

on August 11, 2016, 10:30am

M.I.A. is less than a month away from the release of what she says is her last album, AIM. Thus far, she’s previewed it with “Borders” and “Go Off”, co-produced by Skrillex and Blaqstarr. Today, she’s let loose “Bird Song”.

Previously, M.I.A. teased a Diplo collaboration called “Bird Song”. This version, however, includes production from Blaqstarr yet again and is also expected to appear on the album. It features countless references to birds (“rich like an ostrich”, “squad flock”) and flying and even an R. Kelly name-drop.

Check it out below.

AIM, the follow-up to 2013’s Matangi, lands September 9th via Interscope.
