Disney’s excellent new coming of age fantasy, Pete’s Dragon, enters theaters today. Simultaneously, the film’s soundtrack has been released via music retailers. The majority of the OST features Daniel Hart’s original score, though it’s padded with originals and covers by the likes of Bonnie “Prince” Billy, The Lunimeers, Leonard Cohen, and Okkervil River. St. Vincent also contributed a track, and she’s now shared it on her YouTube account.

Annie Clark tackled “Something on Your Mind”, the opening track off Karen Dalton’s 1971 album In My Own Time. Despite having a far more refined tone, the cover remains remarkably faithful to the original. Clark’s voice is, of course, softer and sturdier than Dalton’s, and the production pushes the string section much farther into the forefront of the song. Still, that only helps the rendition to match the warm tone of the film itself.

Take a listen above. Below, see what St. Vincent felt about Pete’s Dragon in her Twitter review.
