Lady Gaga has spent much of the last year away from music, instead focusing on her fledgling acting career. Her role in American Horror Story: Hotel earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress, and just yesterday, she formally signed on for Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star is Born. Come September, however, Gaga is set to return with a new single called “Perfect Illusion”, produced by none other than Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. Update: “Perfect Allusion” will be released Friday, September 9th.
Mark Ronson, who is credited as a co-producer on “Perfect Illusion”, first hinted at the collaboration back in May, posting a photo of Gaga in the studio with Parker.
An exact release date for “Perfect Illusion”
remains forthcoming, but whenever it does surface, it’ll mark Gaga’s first new solo music since 2013’s ARTPOP. (In 2014, she teamed up with Tony Bennett for the collaborative LP Cheek to Cheek.)
