It’s payday for Daniel Craig.
The 48-year-old British actor is reportedly still in talks with Sony to reprise his role as James Bond. According to Radar, the studio’s tossed the guy up to $150 million dollars to play 007 again for two more films.
“The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor,” a source told the celebrity publication, adding: “Daniel’s the key for a seamless, safe transition as far as Sony and Bond bosses are concerned, and they’re prepared to pay a king’s ransom to make it happen.”
If you recall, Craig allegedly rejected a near-$100 million offer earlier this summer, citing he was through with the series, which tipped off a glut of rumors that tagged everyone from Tom Hiddleston to Jamie Bell as a potential replacement.
Those names may come in handy still, as The Telegraph notes, actors Tom Hughes, Chris Hemsworth, and yes, even Idris Elba (despite claiming he was too old for the role), remain frontrunners should Craig relinquish the gun.
We’ll just have to wait and see whose martini runs dry first.
