Eddie Vedder and Cat Stevens perform together at Global Citizen Fest — watch

on September 26, 2016, 10:10am

Over the months, Eddie Vedder has turned up unexpectedly to play alongside the likes of Elvis Costello, Sting, Peter Gabriel, and even former Chicago Bulls champ Dennis Rodman. The Pearl Jam frontman continued to be a ubiquitous presence at New York’s Global Citizen Fest this past weekend.

Already we saw him and Coldplay’s Chris Martin link up to do PJ songs as well as Crowded House and Patti Smith covers. Now, footage of Vedder and Cat Stevens, aka Yusuf Islam, doing the latter’s 1970 hit “Father and Son” has surfaced. Accompanied only by acoustic guitar, the two took turns singing lines, making for a beautiful and rather apt duet performance (as its title suggests, the track is supposed to be a conversation between a father and son).

Replay the collaboration above.
