After months of near silence, Toronto’s Fucked Up make their triumphant return today with a growling, 16-minute monster of a single called “This Mother Forever”.

Sandwiched between instrumental movements of glimmering, almost psychedelic guitars is a brutal breakdown at around the 5:00 mark, led by frontman Damian Abraham. “A deafening silence, an empty cathedral/ You are my voice, this mother forever,” he declares with guttural screams, a storm of drums raining behind him.

In addition to digital formats, “This Mother Forever” will be available as a limited edition 12-inch sold exclusively at their shows (they’re touring alongside the Descendants next month). “Our Own Blood”, Fucked Up’s 30-minute collaboration with Nunavut throat singer Tanya Tagaq, serves as the B-side.
