Relive Iggy Pop’s wild, tasty “peanut butter incident” in this clip from Stooges documentary Gimme Danger — watch

Gimme Danger is filmmaker Jim Jarmusch’s upcoming documentary on Iggy Pop and The Stooges. The film is set to make its debut in New York and Los Angeles on October 28th and November 4th, respectively, but has been teased today with a new clip.

Set in June 1970, the video captures Pop’s famed “peanut butter incident” in Cincinnati. Hoisted high by a rabid audience, the shirtless proto-punk frontman can be seen smearing chunky PB all over his chest as the Stooges rattled off Fun House rocker “1970”. Pop and the band love it, the crowd loves it — it’s very tasty for everyone involved.
