KAMI, aka Kami De Chukwu, is planning to issue a solo album next year, and he’s looking to some of his Savemoney crew mates for a little help. Vic Mensa, Joey Purp, and Chance the Rapper producer Knox Fortune all appear in the music video for KAMI’s latest song “Home Movies”, playing members of a restaurant band.
It’s a fun watch, especially ’cause of the waitress with killer dance moves, but here’s a pitch for an alternate clip: As the song is a gloriously ’80s synth-led ballad, perhaps slip it into a prom scene in a future Stranger Things episode? You’re welcome, Duffer brothers.
Check out the song and video up above. KAMI previously teamed up with Purp to release 2015’s Season, an album under their collaborative Leather Corduroys moniker. In 2013, he and a handful of Savemoney folk, including Lil Chano, combined forces on “Sappuku”.
